PAT LOUIS: On behalf Expert Village, I'm Pat Louis in Miami, Florida. And today, I'm going to show you some basic drum rhythms. Ballads of course are part of any gig you might say, whether it be a party or whether it be working in a club. So, ballads are an important part and how to play in this also very exceptionally interesting and it can vary as well. For instance, the slow rock feel which is this - is good for a song like "Tonight I Celebrate My Love", which "tonight I celebrate my love for you". It's very, very slow, it's a slow rock feel. You've got that one-two-three-four with the two and four on the high hat or you can also do it on the snare and the stick which is very, very light and very easy, okay? And then your cymbals can be used just to fill in a little sound, a little color to top. That would be one way to do a ballad in the slow rock form. There are a lot of songs that are popular like that. For instance like that song I just mentioned and where people can actually cuddled up on the dance floor and get nice and romantic with everything else going, it's a beautiful sound.
