PAT LOUIS: On behalf Expert Village, I'm Pat Louis in Miami, Florida. And today, I'm going to show you some basic drum rhythms. First thing I'm going to show you is the bass drum which is the basis of any kind of beat or any kind rhythm that you're going to play. Its starts out with a one, two, three, four, just a straight rhythm, okay? With this, you can actually do a number of different kinds of rhythms, disco is one where they use this all the way through. Swing is another one that all way through. Now, you can use this on some rock, but in rock, you're going to use more like a rhythm that will go something like one, two, three, four-and, one, two three, four, one, two, three, four, or something of this nature, one-and, two-and, three-and, four, one-and, two-and, three-and, four, one-and, two-and, three-and, four, one-and, two-and, three-and, four. Those would be your basic rock rhythms, okay? As we put in the high hat and the other cymbals, you'll see how that all comes together with the bass drum actually providing a nice solid base line to your song.
