I'm bananas about bananas. When you're buying bananas, you can buy them green and they'll last a long time. When you're going to use them to actually make something, we're going to make a fruit salad in a minute, I like to choose them with the brown spots. The brown spots show that there's sugar on the outside which means there's sugar on the inside. So they'll be nice and sweet inside. But make sure that it still retains its firmness. Now simply peel your banana and make sure that you discard all of the little strings because they don't taste so good. And you want to get rid of any brown spots. This one is perfect and gorgeous and very firm. I'm going to take a nice sharp chef's knife and I am just going to make nice, round circles. When you're making a fruit salad like I'm going to be, you want to make sure that this is the last thing that you do, because bananas do not stay beautifully white for long. They turn brown almost immediately. So make sure this is your last step. Another way to maybe give just a little more life to them is to sprinkle some lemon juice and water on them and have them soak for just a few minutes. I'm bananas about them. Aren't you?
