How to Lead a Marching BandHi, I'm Suzanne Van Schaack with expertvillage. Today, I'm going to show you how to begin to lead a marching band. If you're the head majorette,than you need to know how to use the baton to get the band to move forward. First thing you do you is you take your baton and you put it behind your back like this. I would face the band. Let's pretend the band is this way. I face the band and I go: Band attend! They shout back to me: Band attend! Then I turn around and go, pretend I have a whistle. I go tiiiiii,tiiiiiiiii two,three,kick,dudaduda,and you continue marching. We go through that again. Band attend! Band attend! Teeeeeee,that's the whistle. Tiiiiiiiiii, two,three kick,dudaduda. Now,I want the band to begin playing. I turn around I blow my whistle,tiiiiiiiiiiiii, ti ti ti ti,and then they go forward and then they begin to play. That's how you lead a band,a marching band.
