How to Voice an Altered Bb7 Chord

So we outline the B flat seven chord the exact same way, one, three, five, and seven, nine, eleven, thirteen. And we go through to alter the B flat seven chord, the exact same process we did before, so you have B flat seven sharp eleven, so, and we go up one, three, five, seven, nine, eleven. So we have this E flat here, and we're going to bring it up to that E, and you have this chord. Or say you have B flat seven sharp thirteen. So we got one, three, five, seven, nine, eleven, thirteen. So we're going to sharp that, and we actually, well let's do flat thirteen. Then we get this scale. Or say you have a B seven plus nine. So I just took my nine and sharped it. Sometimes you'll see plus signs instead of sharp, but it means the same thing, raise it up. So that's a simple process for discovering altered chords.
