Now we are going to take a real in-depth look at our E Flat major Scale. Before we showed it to you right? One two three four five six seven. Again the way we're going to do it today, is to do one three five seven. And that outlines your basic black chord. Those are your four most important notes in the scale. You one three, your five and your seven. Your one being the root, which is usually played by a base player. Which really defines the entire chord. Your three and your seven are the shell voicings. And your five is total center as well. And then you have your color tones. Your nine, your eleven and your thirteen. So if you have an E Flat nine what you want to do is just put the nine in your voicing. See how pretty that sounds. There is an E Flat sixteen right? You got sixteenth in there. Thirteen, sorry thirteen. Again the only avoid note in the scale is the eleventh. And that is only on E Flat Major. It's the only one with a void note. And you hear how it doesn't really sound right. Avoid the eleventh and you can add in your nine and thirteen and start creating some new hip voicings. And we'll go over more on creating these voicings as we go through this segment.
