So, today we're going over Eb Major on the piano. And, again, we're going to show you our Eb Major scale, and we're going to show you how to reanalyze it. Before, we analyzed it one through seven. The way it is analyzed harmonically is: one, three, five, seven, nine, eleven, thirteen. So, up in odds and you skip a third. So, here's our scale: one, three, five, seven, nine, eleven, thirteen. Again, we get our three basic chords out of there. We get F Minor and Bb7. And we're going to show you how to get different voicings for these three basic chords. Then, we're going to go through and show you how to alter them. Let's say you sing in F Minor #11, or Bb 7b 9, and you don't know what to do for that chord. It's a very simple process. We'll go through and show you on the keyboard, and you'll get this language down pat and start to be more fluent in it. Then, we're going to show you different ways of approaching the instrument as an accompaniment. There's really an art to accompanying different bands. It can be a big band or a small combo, or you could be playing with another chordal instrument like a guitarist. There are different approaches that you should learn and really have and get down tight in your bag of tricks. Then, after we've done that, and we learn all of this different harmony, we're going to use this harmony and we're going to play it melodically to help our improvisation, as well.
