Now we want to go over some different soloing ideas, so now we know how to outline all these different block chords, and we know how to add in the sharp nine and the flat thirteen, so you can take this and add it to your bag of tricks when you go start playing licks. Like say I have an E minor, and I'm going to play a D major scale with a flat nine over it, right, so it gives me this hip note right there, which I'm playing a flat seven to. Or if I want to play D major, and I can just outline some basic, so I'm outlining a block chord, one, three, five, seven, nine, eleven, eleven and then the scale, right. So I'm just outlining, going up thirds. So by going and outlining these different chords, and using them melodically, we get a whole new set of ideas that we can go through and practice on our own spare time.
