How to Read a Bass Chart in Ab

So, now we are going to take a look at A flat, and it starts right here on your 4th mark, that or your 4th fret. You have 4, 1, 3, 4, make sure you use the correct fingers, I will do that in just a minute. 4, 1, 3, 4, 1, 3, open, 1, and then you have 3 again. So you get something that looks like this. [play bass] And you want to use, 4, 1, 2, 4, 1, 4, open, 1. [play bass] And we are going to go up, I will say the letters of the scale, you can print out actually the name too. But it is Ab, B flat, C, Db, Eb, F, G, Ab. And a good way to practice too is going Ab, Ab. [play bass] So, really moving back and forth from Ab to Ab and getting those two pitches.
