Redirect Shotgun Line of Fire

My name is Tres Tew I'm an instructor here Yeshua' Ryu Martial Arts on behalf of Expert Village I'm going to be showing you how to defend yourself with open hands against either rifles or shotgun. Because of the nature of the gun, I've developed several drills that will help you when training in defense against a gun. When Nick is hip firing a shotgun or rifle towards me, what I want to do when practicing is practice my hip movement. As you can see I can simply shoulder that out of the way if I need to, but I want to turn my hands into it so what I'm doing, I'm pushing it back this way and as fast as I can I'm getting out of the line of fire, getting out of the trajectory. Now from here, I'm just drilling, these are drills, and you can also do these from the back using your shoulder to get it out of the way. And you want to do these to both sides. You either go live side or dead side, also when your hands are on the back of the head, and he has the gun to your head, what you're going to want to do, is shoulder it out of the way as you step in towards him. And again make sure that you're twisting as much as you can. A lot of this movement, if you can zoom in on my feet and my hips, is in the balls of the feet and in the hips. You're twisting so that your upper body is moving out of the line of fire. Again, those are a couple of the drills that we've been going over. And you can use these very effectively during your training. If you're very serious you'll want to do these with actual guns, but just make sure that they are not loaded and they are on safety at all times.
