How to Play "Reptilia" by The Strokes

Hey this is Joe Wiles with the Rock and Roll Conservatory on behalf of Expert Village. In our last segment we're going to talk about "Reptilia" by The Strokes. This is real, another really easy riff. It's the one that occurs about what, thirty seconds or so into the song. Let's take a look at it. We're in half step down tuning, keep that in mind. You guitar should sound like this o.k. We're going to start off on the eighth fret of the G string. The sequence of notes goes eighth fret on the G string, fifth on the G string, eighth fret on the D string o.k. That first little half of the riff sounds like this o.k. The next half of the riff we're going to slide our ring fingers down to the seventh fret of the D string and kind of reverse it. It's going to go seventh fret of the D string, fifth fret of the G string and eighth fret of the G string. That one in context sounds like this. Slowly put together it sounds like this and to speed that riff sounds like this. That kind of wraps up our series on Guitar Hero III. Hope you had a good time, hope you learned something and I'll see you in another video. Take care.
