Hey, this is Joe Wiles with the Rock and Roll Conservatory on behalf of Expert Village. On this segment, we're going to talk about Pearl Jam's "Even Flow". It's a really riffy piece as opposed to the other segments we've done, the riffs have been a little more chord oriented, or power chord oriented. This one's very notey. So, let's take a look at the guitar and see how it works. The patter starts off with a slide down. Then we're going to slide up from, with our ring finger, on the low E-String, slide up from the third fret to the fifth fret. Index finger on the third fret of the A-String. We're going to hammer down our pinkie onto the fifth fret of the A-String. It sounds like this. Again. It's followed by a riff, we've gone to the D-String. We're going to go 6, 5, 3, 0. We're going to do pull-offs the whole way. One pick and pull your fingers off to the note below it. You just do those two riffs back and forth. Just like that. To speed, it sounds like this. OK? Practice that with the song a few times and get it down, OK? In the next segment, we're going to talk about "Holiday in Cambodia", by the Dead Kennedys. I'll see you then.
