How to Play "My Name is Jonas" by Weezer

Hi there, this is Joe Wiles with the Rock and Roll Conservatory on behalf of Expert Village. In this segment, we're going to be talking about Weezer's "My Name is Jonas". Let's go to our guitar. The intro starts out with an acoustic guitar, and it's a half-step down tuning. The arrangement is generally a C-Chord. We're going to bring our finger down, open up all the strings except for the second fret of our A-String. And then, we're going to play an A-Minor Chord. If you're not familiar with those chords, do a little search on the Internet and it should help you out. Now, the picking with the right hand is the important part on this, because it's really quick. I'm going to play it slowly for you, so you can catch on, OK? Start out with that C-Chord, I'm only going to talk about my right hand picking now, OK? It goes A, B, G, D, B, G. Do that again. OK? Let's do this new chord, second fret on the A-String, everything else open. So it goes A-String, B, G, D, E, B. Again. Then we're going to go to the A-Minor Chord. We're going to do the same picking pattern as the first C-Chord. A, B, G, D, B, G. We're going to return back to the chord we were just at, second fret A-String. Do the exact same picking pattern as we did before on this chord. I don't have time to go into that whole riff to speed, but join us in our next segment. We're going to be doing "Evenflow", by Pearl Jam. We'll see you then.
