Hey, this is Joe Wiles for the Rock and Roll Conservatory, on behalf of Expert Village. In this segment, we're talking about "Anarchy in the UK", by the Sex Pistols. Let's take a look at the guitar. Most of these are just modified power chords. We're actually going to play a power chord rooted in the D-String, the index finger on the fifth fret of the D-String, then your ring finger on the seventh fret of the G-String. That's our first power chord. Now everything in this song is that shape. OK? So, from here out, I'm just going to tell you where to put your index finger, OK? We're going to assume that that is one string higher, and two frets up. OK? The first chord is right here on the D-String, fifth fret. Slide it down two frets, one, two, to the third fret on the D-String. Second fret, open. Then we're going to do that same power chord on the third fret of the A-String. And then we're going to be lifting up our index finger here to run that riff. Slowly, it sounds like this. And so on. To speed, it sounds like this. Alright, that riff should get you right through the intro of "Anarchy in the UK". In our next segment, we're going to talk about "My Name is Jonas", by Weezer. See you there.
this is a great song and an easy one! thanks Joe!
