How to Relieve Hemorrhoid Pressure
Hello, my name is Dr. Susan Jewell and on behalf of Expert Village today I'm going to talk to you about hemorrhoids and in particular we're going to talk about ways to alleviate the pain from hemorrhoids. Now, one of the ways that you can actually alleviate some of the pain and symptoms of hemorrhoids is the way that you actually try to reduce the pressure on the anus region where the hemorrhoids usually form. Using cushions or some sort of soft surface area to sit on. I recommend that like for example, you're sitting on this chair here, it's kind of like not much padding, so when you sit on it you're going to cause a lot of pressure on the hemorrhoids and you're going to increase the pain. So, get some cushions, really soft cushions and then you can actually put it on the seat so that you are elevated but also you can actually have a bit more cushion so when you sit on it you're not going to put a lot of pressure on the hemorrhoids itself. Another way that you can actually buy certain designed cushions so they're specifically for people suffering from hemorrhoids. They're called a donut shaped cushion. I haven't got one here, but I've drawn it for you. Here's your top view looking at it. Basically it's like a babies swimming rubber ring, shaped like a donut, that's why it's called donut shaped cushions. The side view is indented so that when you actually sit on it, you can actually have your bottom sitting on here so that your hemorrhoids, you know it's opened, this is an open area, so the hemorrhoids are not touching any surface, any contact with the cushion itself so that you're not compressing the hemorrhoids. That will decrease the pain. These are some of the ways that you can actually decrease the pain from the hemorrhoids itself.
