How to Make Proper Cuts with a Knife: Basic Knife Care

Hi! This is John. Now let’s talk a little bit about how to use a knife in the right way to cut. To give you a little idea, here I have a piece of string and a piece of paper. You always want to cut away from you. To give you an idea of how sharp this blade is, cut just like this and it is easy to cut your finger also. Cut away from you, never cut to you like this; you cut away. Also, to give you an idea how this will cut, you can see here. If it starts cutting that is a good edge on the blade. If it doesn’t cut at all, it just folds the paper, you need to work on sharpening the blade a little bit more.
