On behalf of Expert Village this is Lizbeth Muller. Today I'm going to teach you how to make chicharros which is split pea soup. As you notice here the sofrito is getting more brown, it is cooked more and that is the way that I want to see it. I want to see a little bit more brown sofrito so that way I can place it in the pot. I'm just stirring it up, I'm going to turn down the heat like that, turn it off. Now I'm going to proceed to place it inside my soup, nice and slowly so it does not splash on me. Just put it in there like that, stir it up, there we go. Just let it cook and it is going to get that thickness to it too. It is going to cook in there. Move it around and what I do now is take a little bit more of the split pea soup and stir it around like this. Get all of this stuff out of the pan and I put it back in there. It is delicious there you go, stir it up.
