Adding the Water to the Peas for Spanish Split Pea Soup

On behalf of Expert Village this is Lizbeth Muller. Today I'm going to teach you how to make chicharros which is split pea soup. I'm just going to rinse out the peas one time like this and then I'm going to fill the pot up as much as I can with water. But not over flowing okay so I'm going to fill it up and add one along the way to get the toothpick. I might do that I'm going to add water along the way. So don't worry about the bubbles that happens this much is good. I wish right now I had my moms bigger pot I will tell you that much because this is going to be very good. Okay I'm going to place that there and go straight to the meat. So we are going to place the meats with the water and the peas. I'm going to put my pea up. I started up in a kind of a high heat to get it boiling.
