Self defense video: situational weapons
Remember that a weapon doesn’t necessarily mean that it’s a gun or a knife or a lead pipe. Really anything that aids you in a combat situation or that aids you in a fight is in fact a weapon. That can be anything from a paper clip to a ball ping hammer, or even as simple as a wooden cooking spoon. If someone has a hold of me I can use this wooden spoon to help create the pain that I need if I need this. This is very useful for seniors or again small women who may not have the power or strength to pull off one of these other techniques. Using the wooden spoon will help me out a lot. Also, using it this way is a nice tool for grabbing, pinching, or anything that I might need to do at the time. This hurts a lot. Any type of implement that can be used in such a fashion, a highlighter, ball point pen or just a stick that you happen to pick up off the ground works very very well. Also, rather than striking with my hand I can use this to hit and giving myself a smaller point of impact striking into the nose or even the throat to help disorient, cause bleeding, confusion and best of all pain. People that grab a hold of you when you have a stick in your hand are not only stupid are almost asking to get hurt. Not only could you strike somebody or hit them with this stick, it could also come back on you whenever the authority said you used a club and you would end up going to jail. So rather than striking them let’s just go ahead and create pain with what they’ve given you like going ahead and locking down this arm. This is very painful for somebody and less obvious as an attack. Just coming over the attack, rolling in is also very effective. Also puts them in range for something very effective.
