Combining Ropes for Wreath Cookies

Hi, I'm Jennifer Cail and on behalf of Expert Village, I'm going to show you how to make these delicious festive wreath cookies. Now that we have all of our plain dough and our colored green dough rolled out into ropes that are six inches long, it's time to combine them. So what we're going to do is take one of each color. Make sure that they are about the same length and we're going to gently twist them together and you don't want to pinch the edges yet, we're going to do that in a later step. You just want to have a nice combined spirals. Gently twisting them. You really only want about three or four twists per wreath that we're going to be forming. You don't want it to be twisting too tightly, nor too loosely. You just want to make sure that you're getting both of the colors are being shown evenly in a nice little twist like that. Now you can see where it helps to have the ropes be as close as possible to the same size because it's going to allow for better more even twists. So if you have one that's a little bit longer and one that's a little bit shorter you can always look through your rows of ropes to find ones that match. And we're going to twist all of these before going onto the next step.
