How to Do Pigtail Braids: Cute Hairstyles

Hi, my name is Teri Lynne and I'm here on behalf of Expert Village. In this segment I'm gonna show how to do two braided pig tails. In the last segment, we just did two regular pony tail pig tails. I already still have the hair separated in half and as I was mentioning in the last segment, it's very important, the separation of the hair or splitting the hair in two. Its probably one of the most important things you do when you're wearing your hair on two sides. So you rally want to make sure that you have a nice even part all the way down. And if you're having trouble finding the part, you can wet your hair a little bit. You could use a mirror for the back of your head to part it. Or you can ask a friend to split your hair in half for you. So working with one half here. I'm just gonna take the hair it's nicely comb and smooth. I'm gonna split it into nice three equal parts. It's split you want to start just about half way up the ear. It's where you want to start the braid. You could choose if you want to choose to do it a little lower, I wouldn't go any higher than that. You're just gonna start folding the hair the pieces into the middle, over lapping them one over the other, like that. You want to make sure you hold the braid tight so it doesn't slip, that you don't get a really loose look. Braid it down as far as you want to go. I like to leave a few inches at the bottom. Wrap it as many times as you need to get it nice and tight. I'm just gonna go around and do the exact same thing on the other side. Splitting into nice three equal pieces. Want to start at the same place you started the other one. So if you do a lower braid make sure the other side is a lower braid as well. And again folding the hair one over the other. And you want to tie the bottom at the same place as well, so everything is even. And here we have our braided pit tails. Turn around, great. And if you want to see more of my up does.
