Printing Quality vs. Quantity for Publishing a Children's Book
Hi! I’m Angela Sage Larsen. On behalf of expertvillage.com, today, we’re going to talk about publishing your own children’s story. Please visit my web site at petalwinkthefairy.com. Since you are the publisher of your story, it’s important to determine which printing option best suits your story. Now, I’m talking about quality, when you go with a traditional printer, you are going to have a choice of a four color process or six color process so that the color directly reflects what you intended with your illustrations. With the print on demand, or the online service, you might have fewer choices and in fact some of them do not even provide color options. Then of course, there is your desktop computer, which you are limited to a size of 8.5 x 11 sheets of paper. Quantity is another big question to be considered. We ordered 3000 books for our first run, and so a traditional printer was able to accommodate that size. Now the print on demand is a nice option before the online publishing, because you can choose exactly how many you want starting from one all the way up to however many that you want. Of course, your desktop computer, if you print out from there, that’s an issue of your time.
