Hello, my name is Melissa Schenk and on behalf on Expert Village today we are going to be talking about how to elegantly decorate your Christmas tree. Now in our earlier clip we were just talking about about how to skirt your tree. This clip let's talk about how to water your tree. Of course if you have an artificial tree, you can skip this clip. But, if you've got a real tree depending where you've put it. Again, you don't want to have the real tree close to anything with heat like a family room close to the fire place. It's gonna lose its needles and it's gonna dry out very quickly meaning you're not going to have a Christmas tree around for very long. So, when we're watering our tree the biggest thing to think about of course is A when you brought it into the house and it has just been cut down and you need a very good stand for it. So, you gotta, a lot of the places that you can buy trees have great stands and you can screw them together with the tree in the center there and then just put the water in. Big thing to think about though is your tree skirt. As you're skirting your tree, you want to make sure you have easy access to water the tree on a constant basis. You have to remember too in the very beginning when you just get your tree it takes a lot of water; it drinks a lot of water right from the start. So, for the first couple of days it is going to drink quite a bit of water. After the next couple of days not as much. But you want to make sure, the way you screw your tree that you can get to it very easily and you haven't put a lot of things around it because if you have, you're gonna be moving it back and fourth. So, a good idea that I always tend to do is to either put your tree skirt not at the front of the tree, the opening for the tree skirt at the front of the tree but towards the back. Where people won't see as much and you can get easier access in there, so you want to keep this tree watered. Something else that people, many people tend to do when they have a real tree is either give it aspirin or civic pine fertilizer as well. So that just gives it a little bit more of an extra oath to keep your tree looking and smelling great all season long.
This clip on watering wouldn't play well for me.
