Thoughts of Death: Signs of Depression

Hello. My name is Leslie Moselle and I'm from Tampa, Florida. And, on behalf of Expert Village, these are the signs of depression. For a doctor or other health professional to diagnose depression, most of the following signs and symptoms must be present for at least two weeks. Thoughts of Death: As a symptom of depression, you may have a persistent negative view of yourself, your situation, and your future. You may have persistent thoughts of death, dying, suicide (which is harm to yourself) or homicide (which is harming others). Thoughts of death are usually caused by an experience or a group of experiences that lead to that point. Depression with thoughts of suicide can be caused by all of the symptoms adding up to cause these thoughts. But there are times when thoughts of death and feelings of suicide are sudden and not exactly known.
