Taping the Switch & Installing the Boom to Install a Shower Head

Hi! I am Drew Fenn professional home inspector. I am here for Expertvillage.com. Today, we are going to install a shower head and I will show you how and the video is produced by Black Dog Video. You can blackdogvideo.biz on the internet. The extension head or boom will be attached next. So that the sprayer is more towards the center in this large shower and this has the thread on, it has adjustments up and down so that even a really tall person would have a nice shower and they won’t have to duck down to get a shower. So let's install this and the switch that we have now. We have got a threaded joint here, we have to apply the teflon tape to it remember in a clockwise position of three revolutions, keep the tension on it. One… two… three… all right, three times around. Snap it off. We are good to go. Now in the extension bar this does not have the silver knobs so we will remove the whole thing around to tighten it and remember we have got to get it nice and square, not cross thread it. If this stops half way then you are cross threading it. There we go, it is going on nice and smoothly. Okay… that is actually we can tighten it slightly with the wrench. Keep tighten with the wrench slightly. We are going to snug up the switch too. Now, if the extension bar on this has adjustments, we are going to loosen this that it can go up and down, so that it is adjustable on the fly for someone who is going to shower because it going to wing up here. Then we are good to go at the shower at the new shower head on here.
