Conclusion: Piano Counting for Children

Hi. My name is Hope Wells. Thanks for watching. I was here with my friend Shia, she's gone already. She's a student here at the California Music Academy where we are currently located. And you are watching expertvillage.com where experts from around the world come to your desk top. You probably noticed in that lesson with Shia that I had a gazillion questions that I asked her. And if she, if her voice wasn't loud enough to be picked up on camera, sorry. But you can probably tell what she was saying. She got almost all the answers right. That child is fantastic at counting. She will count everything. She's not so good yet at counting within the measure. I don't know if you could hear her, but she was playing I think it was Bye Bye Black Bird, and she couldn't say, she would say one, one, two, instead of one, two, three, four. It's just something that a lot of kids do. And that's okay. She'll grow out of it. I'm not worried. She's fantastic at picking up things really quickly. She can read by shape amazing. A couple of things I did with her that you, that I just want to talk about, I made her make sure she could read me the notes, and I made her make sure she could find the notes on the piano. The new ones, the sharps and flats. And we're going to do a lot more of that next time. So thank you for watching our lesson with Shia and it's been lovely having you along with us at expertvillage.com here from California Music Academy. I am Hope Wells.
