Hi, I'm Doug, I work with twenty great guys in St. Louis at Doug Jenkins Custom Hot Rods and we're going to do some work for you today on Expert Village. The oil pump pickup is a press fit, now Mark's going to press it into place so he held magic marker there while it was in the block and got it lines up. Now he's just using a wrench that's exactly the same size as the diameter of the pickup and wow, whacking it there with a dead blow hammer. That wrench fits exactly on the shoulder of the pickup. Some applications we weld them in place, this though it has that nice bolt, brace there that we need so we'll rely on the press fit here. If it was a less secure application we would go ahead and tack weld that in as well. So now he's got it all driven in there and that's pretty much tight fit, if it was a bad fit, the engine would suck air through the oil pump and that would be a bad deal. He put it in the vice pretty square, it would be easy to break or damage the thing if you chose to a bad bite in the vice. It's looking pretty close to, like we got it right.
