Hello my name is Dr. Susan Jewell and on behalf on of expert village I am going to talk to you about the topic of osteoarthritis. And in particular we are going to look at way s to reduce the pain from osteoarthritis and in this particular clip we're going to talk about a particular compound called Capsaicin. Capsaicin is found in found plants in some vegetables like chilies or they process it from the plants and they put it in topical cream. So what does Capsaicin do, well actually it’s been found on research that capsaicin actually blocks the transmission of pain from the nerve fiber endings. When it does that, you temporarily don't feel the pain sensation. And here I will show you what you can actually buy that has capsaicin in it. This is a very popular product topical cream that has high content of capsaicin in it. That you can apply topically apply rub on to your skin on the joint areas affected by arthritis or the pain and that will help alleviate the pain sensation. Also capsaicin has been found be in high content level in red chili pepper sauce. Here are some dried red chili peppers that you can buy so these are you can easily cook this in food you could eat it if your can bear the hotness which would help from you with the reducing the pain of arthritis. so if you can bear to eating the hot chili peppers and chili sauce to reduce the pain, then you can get the topical cream, so capsaicin is good to put either on the skin or to put in your food diet to help alleviate some of the pain symptoms of arthritis.
