Belt Buckle Design Tips

A couple of things to think about when you're pairing together your main piece or pieces of jewelry to the buckle, think about the design flowing. You don't want to put circular things with square things. You want to sort of have a flow to it. Again, I'm going to use this design here. It's not overbearing. This is a nice round piece with the flowers. You can have these little accents. Probably with this because it's fairly detailed, you're not going to want to put a whole bunch of stuff around the edges. You want to keep it simple, clean, not really too heavy on the eyes. You really want to have a nice center focus. This is actually a pin that I clipped off the back and I put the flower on here. It was a really nice match for this belt because of course, it was flower design. Then I just painted this to actually match the belt piece. This sort of flows together. You kind of want to stay with the same themes. Maybe organic themes with an organic belt. Nature things together. A lot of times those are good things that really work. Also, if you find a belt with a buckle and you like one but you don't like the other. I don't know if everybody knows this, but a lot of the buckles come off. You can just actually snap them off the back. Especially a lot of those that you find at the flea markets, they're detachable. You can really mix and match. Again, the key is to play with these things. Practice and see what you like that suits you best.
