Etiquette for Raking Bunkers in Golf

Hi, I am Kinsey Snyder on behalf of Expert Village. In this clip I am going to talk about some more bunker etiquette. As you can see I hit my shot in the bunker here, I am going to take the rake in with me, and I am going to lay it down here and prepare to hit my shot. One thing you do not want to do, I see it all the time people doing this, kind of raking your feet marks behind you, by the rules of golf that is illegal, okay, so just take it in with you and drop it. Okay, I hit my shot, now I am going to take my club and put it just outside the trap here, now I am going to rake; and one thing you can notice here is I have a steep bank right here, I am pushing the sand up, one thing you do not want to do is take your club or the rake and pull all the sand down, because you going to have too much of it. Get into the center of the bunker, so you want to make sure you have pinned it, push it up the lip and then from here, you can see I kind of I pull back and then I push it through. So just make sure that you use some commonsense, be courteous to the players behind you, make sure you rake your bunker, doesn’t take very long to do and it is just good for everybody else.
