Questions & AnswersHi I'm Mark Wenzel with Expert Village. We're teaching you about mimes and right now we are going to focus on the hands. The hands are very important because with the face they tell the whole story. Now here is a little mime trick that they actually teach you on mime school. Make a fist but don't make a fist like this, make a fist bringing each finger in separately. Why this is a real mime exercise, is as if you grab anything in panthermind you always grab it with your little finger first. You just don't grab like that, you grab with your little finger and then each finger holds the object. When you grab a rope let's say each finger will grab the rope, then you really have it. So if you pick a glass up in front of you, you don't pick the glass up like this, you pick a glass up with each finger separately. You got the glass you drink from the glass you put the glass down and relax your hand away just as you would a real glass. Now if you're picking up something really big you pick it up with both little fingers. So you got it like that and you got something like really big, set it down and put it away, if you grab anything, if you grab a door knob, anything you grab, you grab with your little finger first and that completes the illusion.
