Italian Biscotti Cookies Recipe

Hi! I'm Terri Turco with Expert Village and today I'm going to show you how to make the best biscotti. Now, you're thinking who is she making the best biscotti. First of all, biscotti is an Italian cookie and I happen to be Italian. Second of all, my mother showed me how to make biscotti at the age of 5. Since then, which obviously has been a couple of years since I was that old, I've used different ingredients to really vary my biscotti. You can make almond biscotti, chocolate biscotti, double chocolate biscotti, lemon biscotti. There's a multitude of different types of biscotti that you can make. It's just really a very simple basic recipe. What you do is you just add the different ingredients. Whether it be nuts, chocolate, or making it double chocolate. Today, we're going to make almond biscotti, I’m going to show you really how simple, and easy it is. Everybody is really afraid when they think about biscotti that it's so difficult because biscotti means twice baked. Basically, I'm going to give you this recipe. You can add the dimensions that you want and when you bake it's simply putting it in the oven as a whole log that you're going to see in just a few minutes, and then baking it again after it's baked for 30 minutes and slicing it. Today we're going to make almond biscotti. That's what I've chosen. As you see, at the ready are the almonds and the almond extract.
