Welcome back I'm Alisha and I'm with Expert Village. The majority of children start teething the ages of 4 and 7 months. Some kids don't even get their first tooth till after their first birthday. My daughter didn't get her tooth until she was almost 10 months old. My son in the other hand I think he would be starting any minute, he is about 3 months old. Usually the first tooth that starts to come in are the bottom 2 molars in the middle. Then after that it starts to progress to the top 2 middle teeth. After that the sides and the towards the back come in. By the time they are 2 years old they have usually have their 2 years old molars and by the time they are 3 years old they will have a total of 20 teeth. Usually their, they would keep their baby teeth until your 6 years old and that is when the permanent teeth would start to come in and your baby teeth would start to fall out. So it is good to keep a few pictures on hand when they first starting their teeth because they look pretty goofy with one or two teeth in their mouth. Anyways let's get started by talking about how to deal with a teething child. Alright one sign of teething is drooling and you would know when this happens cause everything seems to be getting wet; pillow cases, cribs, tee shirts, you name it, your shirt. It looks like you are drooling sometimes. One good way to deal with drooling is have your child wear a bib. Bibs just helps contain the drooling, it helps them from getting a rash on their chest which that is not good once they get started. Another thing you can do is just dab away a little bit of the drool each time. If it starts getting rash you can put some petroleum jelly or just some mild lotion on the chin to keep it from getting any worst. Kids would start to drool and you usually know when a tooth is about to come in because the drool would start to pour out of the mouth and then it eases up. Then you would start all over again once another tooth comes in.
