Using the Sample Screen on an Akai MPC 4000

The next part of the series I'll be talking about the sample screen. The sample screen is the screen where you can organize your samples and edit your samples. You can trim your samples and you decide whether they loop or how you want them to play. You could also normalize your samples and arrange the samples. Once you've recorded your sample, you can then move on to the sample menu. Once you're in the sample menu press F2 to trim your sample. Now within this menu you can trim your sample manually by using the jog wheel and you can actually see the beginning of the end of where you want it to cut. You could also create a loop and decide when that loop starts and ends. Another way to actually doing this is using the play by trim which is a lot simpler and I'll be explaining that in the next section. This section you can also affect the play mode. It can be either no loop, loop, or one-shot. The one-shot will, once you hit the key it will play the entire loop from beginning to end. The loop would just loop itself as long as you hold down the pad and the no loop will just play the sample once.
