Chords for Playing a Fake Book Melody in G Major

And I just want to take a minute to just explain that we aren't going to have enough time to go over all these different chords, we're looking at more advanced real books tunes, so, not all these chords come out of one key. Like this comes out of G major, this comes out of F major, this comes out of D major, this comes out of B major, this comes out G major, D major, and again, it's not that bad. We're going to look up about six chords and then we start repeating them. So, it's not bad at all. So as we go through this tune today, we'll give you references how to go and search on Expert Village, and it's not that hard. All you have to do is open another window and you just search for one key word, and that chord will come up and it will show you how to voice it. And then you can just play your left hand voicing, and then apply the melody over on top. And the beautiful thing about this again is you can use this same process for any real book tune, and you can start reading through real book tunes on your own time, and again we can't show them online due to copyright issues, but you can use this exact same method and it'll work perfect, and you'll be able to figure out these chords, and again, the more you do it, the more you'll get these chords under your fingers, and the less you'll have to go back and reference, so it's really getting this information and embedding it into your soul.
