2nd Passage for Playing a Fake Book Melody in G Major

Now we're going to take a look at our second song, again, don't worry as much about the chords, we'll tell you how to find the chords. We're not going to go over them in this segment, but, we're just going to go through and analyze this tune first. So we're in G again, so here's G. So we got one, two, three. Remember each line and space is a different number and we're counting up to seven, starting on the second line. One, two, three, four, five, six, so we have six, flat seven, one, and then flat seven again. If the note's flatted or sharp to a measure it stays that 'til the end of the measure so flat seven, one, flat seven, six, five, six, five, three, three, two, three, four, five, seven, six, five, six, five, five, six, five, five, and we go to three. Three, two, one, seven, four, three, five, three, five, three, four, no, yeah, four, five, four, five, four, five, five, four, three, two. So we went through this whole piece and we already have the whole melody down. So we went through and already we can read through the whole thing, but we're going to take it measure by measure so we can go over the different rhythms in there, and explain to you how to find the chords, and you can use this exact same method for any real book tune. So you can look up real book tunes you know and then search for the chords and then figure out the melodies and start playing through them all on your own, in your own spare time.
