Different Ways to Melt Chocolate for Holiday Treats

Hi, I'm Terri Turco with Expert Village and I'm going to tell you about the two separate ways to melt chocolate. In the first method what you do is you melt chocolate over, what they call a double boiler. Well obviously, it's just a pan and what you do is you fill the pot with water. You fill it about 3/4 full and then you put a glass bowl, and it has to be glass, can't be a wood bowl, can't be a ceramic bowl, it needs to be a glass bowl. And if you are wondering why does it have to be glass. Because when the water heats up it much more easily heats up a glass bowl, but with ceramic it would take too long and if it was wood you might have a fire. We don't want any fires for the Expert Village people. The second method is to put it in a microwave oven and that my friends is what we are going to be doing today. We're going to put it in the microwave oven even though we'll have the double boiler going. But you're going to see the microwave oven is so much quicker, it's going to be a lot better for you. So when you come back we're going to go right to the microwave and in less than probably a minute we'll have that chocolate melted and ready to go in action. So make sure you come back.
