Service Dog Training to Accept Strangers

Hi, I’m Jim Leske an Animal Behaviorist & Trainer for Expert Village. Today we are talking about some of the training involved with making dog's therapy and or service dog's. This is my friend Tess, she is a K9 good cit son as well as a hospital therapies t dog. One of the training method we use with Tess is ,one of the training tip's on the test is called assenting a friendly stranger, it is very important for a dog to friendly to people they don't know as well as unfamiliar solutions. One of the why's we did is we sat in front of a local pet store or gorsy store and Tess just sat there in a sit position she got of all kind's of scratching and all kind's of patting, around all kind's of distraction there were people coming in and out , grocery cart's coming by in every direction .And she enjoys gowning to the hospital, it sparks her life it make's her week, and when they se a dog like Tess walk in and so that's part of the program, um and again it's just sitting there being friendly and comterble with all kind's of people walking around, so again I’m Jim Leske and thanks’ for watching Expert Village.
