How to Serve Oyster Stew

My name is Brandon Sarkis on behalf of Expert Village. Today I'm going to show you how to shuck an oyster and how to prepare them a couple of different ways. Alright, so we just take our oyster stew. Pour it right into the bowl, try not to splash it all over the place. Oh, we've got some steam on the camera there. Let's wave that off. Then, what you're going to do for service, for presentation, we'll take that tablespoon of butter and it just goes right in the soup, just like that. Wipe that edge off. What's going to happen is that when you go to serve this, you could also if you have some parsley or something like that, you could put that on top. Now what happens when you serve this, you're going to sit this down, and then you're going to have this nice pretty yellow spot right there in the center, which is from the butter. And when you serve it, it's going to have this nice little pretty yellow thing here in the middle and so who ever is going to eat it, just takes it and swirls it around. It adds another layer of richness to our soup. And we've got this really awesome, super, super , super traditional oyster stew just like that. Now, I'll be the first to admit that it's not the healthiest thing you could possibly eat, but it is definitely delicious. Also, when you serve this, you're going to want to serve it with a roll or some bread or something because, obviously, you're going to want to soak up some of that butter and also you're going to want to soak up some of the bread, soak up some of the soup too, because it's like a chowder, it goes great with crackers or bread. I recommend serving it that way, with a nice roll or a nice piece of bread. So, that was that, I hope you enjoyed my little oyster cooking class. I hope to see you again and enjoy your oysters.
