Understand Dog Obedience Training for a Schutzhund

My name is Phil Hoelcher and I am representing Expert Village.com this morning and we are going to be talking a little bit about the sport of Schutzhund. We are going to try to show you a little bit about all three phases; the tracking, obedience and protection and give you an idea today a little bit of what the sport is all about. Okay this is a Belgian Malinois, he is a little bit farther along in training. This is a very, very high drive dog and what we are trying to do now is extend a little bit what you saw with the other dog working. We are trying to get him a little bit farther, we are asking for a little bit more out of him and he is a very showy dog if we can get everything under control. So we will show you a little bit of what we are doing to get everything under control in him exactly what the position they want. Greg on the other side there will be telling me because I am not going to try to pay attention to him, I am going to try and pay attention to what I am doing, and if he gets out of position or whatever Greg will tell me then I will try to help get him back in position. So you can see a little bit of how that works when we are trying to train them a little bit more for precision for this sport…. Now because that was all pretty nice, alright, we want to be able to give him a toy for doing it, but he can’t get the toy until I tell him that it is okay that he can do that….
