Learn the Role of Playing & Training in a Schutzhund

My name is Phil Hoelcher and I am representing Expert Village.com this morning and we are going to be talking a little bit about the sport of Schutzhund. We are going to try to show you a little bit about all three phases, the tracking, obedience and protection and give you an idea today a little bit of what the sport is all about. This is again a little American bulldog, it is a young dog and she is now, we are trying to get her to play the way that we want her to play. So we are trying to use the toys to get her attention on what we are asking her to do. Again a little bit, this is like, she is relatively new in this work, she has got her first BH title but we are trying to see how much focus work that we can get on her, where she is totally paying attention to the handler. Now if she does that nicely a couple of times then she gets the reward but the object of it is, is to keep her busy in working with these balls and keeping her focus on playing or working. If she works nice she gets to play, so what we are trying to make her become is very happy about the work, and when she gets the work and does everything the right way then she gets a little toy for doing it, so that is a reward.
