How to Install a High Performance Muffler

Hi I'm Doug. I work with twenty great guys in St. Louis at Doug Jenkins Custom Hot Rods, and we're going to do some work for you today on Expert Village. So we've tacked the front of the pipe in place real lightly. Just to hold the pipe in place while Dave fits the muffler. Like I said earlier, the pipe may need to be adjusted so we didn't weld it in permanently, we just kind of put a couple little tacks on it to hold it in place. Now we're going to tack the muffler in place if everything is right. Dave's got a jack on it there to hold it in place after he determines where he wants it. You see him pushing on the muffler there, making sure everything gets in line. Trying to keep everything, it's kind of funny this is the underside of the car, who's going to see it but us, but you can see Dave backing up there to see if the muffler is level. We want to do a really good tidy looking installation; everything goes better if it looks good. We don't have any excuses to make to people, and it's just a much more rewarding way to work. So Dave's going to put in quite a bit of effort, getting everything straight and level.
