Hello, I'm Donna Beth Joy Shapiro on behalf of ExpertVillage.com and today I'm going to show you how to iron a shirt. In this clip, we are going to talk about how to iron the cuffs. Start on the inside. Again, on a shirt that is, how should we say it, not so expensive, you will probably have a hard time getting the fabric completely flat. Just do the best you can. It's not going to show from the outside. You'll just drive yourself crazy trying to get those creases out. You won't be able to do it. Flip it over and spray your starch. The only difficult part here is avoiding the buttons. You want to make sure you do not iron over the buttons. Number one, you'll scratch the sole plate of your iron. But also, you could melt the buttons. For those of you who don't iron and take your shirts to the dry cleaners, you'll notice that often, the buttons have been replaced. That's because the dry cleaner has melted the button for you. A lot of dry cleaners will do that free of charge, but sometimes your buttons don't match. There we go; thanks for watching!
