DIXON GILLETTE: Welcome back to Expert Village. My name is Dixon Gillette. Let's continue our guide on how to play Battlestations: Midway. Now, how you look around when you're at periscope level is to raise your periscope. By pushing mouse button 3, your periscope will begin coming to the surface, and here, you will be able to identify and attack targets and get a general sense of your surroundings. Keep in mind though, on some difficulty settings in the game, by having your periscope above the surface of the water, some units will be able to spot your submarine and engage you accordingly. To conduct the torpedo attack, you will simply align your crosshairs over your target. Then, by pushing mouse button 1, you can launch a volley of torpedoes. Also, keep in mind, just like ship-borne torpedoes, you're going to want to fire a spread. That way, a slow moving ship and your slow moving torpedoes will not be able to avoid each other. As you can see, we've just completed a successful torpedo attack. When you're done using your periscope, all you have to do to retract it is push mouse button 3 and your periscope will retract into the hull.
