Arm Triangle Choke from the Guard Position in Jiu Jitsu
Hi! This is Don Daly representing expertvillage.com, and in this clip, we’re going to show the arm triangle from the guard position. Okay, guard position. I have him in my guard. He decides to put pressure on me. He’s pushing his weight this way, maybe he wants to choke me putting pressure on my neck but I feel his weight coming this way. I’m going to do 2 things at once. I’m going to use my legs to pull him up and keep him the way he’s going. At the same time, I’m going to push his elbow across and bring him up in here opening my arm up. So he’s here; he’s putting pressure on my neck. I feel his weight coming, I use my legs and I take my arm just to pop the elbow and bring him up into here with my arm around here. From here, I reach over keeping my head tight to his shoulder. Grab my bicep; go to the back of his head. I scoop my hips out slightly to the side. I got him here, here; I squeeze and push in and he chokes. Okay, so again he’s pressuring me, arm’s going across. Now, if I just pop his elbow without my legs, nothing’s going to happen so I need to pop it while I pull him up with my legs. We come around the neck, grab the bicep, back on the back of his head, scoop hips out. Okay, a little bit to the side. We want to push his head down, squeeze him toward me pushing him with your head, pulling him with your arms, pushing his head down. If I go to choke, he starts to give me trouble, I can’t choke him, and he’s pushing away, I’m just going to take this back. So I put this foot down and I sneak it under and come from the top and take his back from there.
