How to Inspect a Motorcycle Air Filter Case

Hi my name is Jess Graham and here in Tampa, Florida on behalf of Expert Village. This is how to replace and maintain your air filter in a motorcycle. In this step we will be inspecting the air filter case. With a slightly damp rag, you just want to go around the edges and try to pick up as much loose dirt as possible. Getting dirt into your engine can wear out the internal engine parts, which can cause you engine to fail a lot sooner than you would like. Take the rag and wipe off any dirt you might have and then you want to inspect the case and make sure any bolts are tighten down that may come loose. Because these falling into your engine can be very harmful. inspect the case for any more dirt; as well as tighten the screws. If any screws are loose. Inspect any wire you might have inside the air filter case. Make sure all connectors are very tight. If you see any dirt, take your damp rag and try to clean it up as best you can.
