Quad Strengthening Physical Therapy Exercises for Knees

Hi! My name is Monica and I'm going to show you another strengthening exercise for your legs. It is actually great strengthening exercise and it is very functional because you do it everyday. It is squatting. So every time your have to sit down you squat, so again very functional exercise. To start off you want to make sure you feet are shoulder width apart maybe a little bit wider just a nice whatever is comfortable for you base. The other thing you want to do is you are going to bend at your knees and your going to kind of unhinge your hips here, you want your butt to kind of stick out, so from a side view it looks like this my butt is really kind of sticking out right here. That is what you want. What your are going to do is start off by your knees slightly bent, stick out that but out and then slowly just sit down; make sure that you are comfortable. If this is easy going down that far, you could go all the way down. Arms could be out in front of you. If that is most comfortable, so people prefer them crossed like this, other people like having them right at there side so again whatever is easiest for you. Even hanging on to the wall and go down if that is what you need.
