Sivananda Yoga Ear Pressure Halasana (Plow) Pose Variation

Another wonderful modification variation of Halasana Plow Pose is the Ear Pressure Pose. And, we've got Heidi here to demonstrate it for us. So, I'm going to go ahead and have Heidi lay down on her mat on her back. Coming into Shoulder Stand, she's going to take it into Halasana Plow Pose and then she's going to take it to the Ear Pressure Pose. So, first coming into Sarvangasana Shoulder Stand. Setting the pose first, making sure you're safe. Elbows are nicely together, as close together as you're possibly comfortable. The chin is now pressing into the throat. So, making sure she does not look side to side from this point on. Slowly lower into Halasana Plow Pose. Legs long over head. Looking straight up to the sky, not looking side to side. And, then very gently bending the knees releasing the ears. Excuse me, releasing the knees down to the ears and towards the mat. Notice, that beautiful long spine. Elbows nicely close together. Legs are relaxed. Very comfortable pose if you can get into it. And, then coming out of it straightening the legs coming back into Plow. Lifting the legs at a forty-five degree angle. Drop the arms down to the ground. Engage your core muscles and very slowly lowering down. All the way down and coming into Sirvasana. Palms up.
