Sivananda Yoga Wide Leg Sirsasana (Headstand)

This is Heidi and she's going to be showing a variation of the headstand coming in to a nice beautiful Wide Leg Sirsasana. First I'm going to have her come in to a nice child's pose. Take a couple breaths, calm, relax, steady yourself. Very important when you're coming into a headstand to start in child and end in child. So going ahead and doing your measurement. Bringing your elbows underneath your shoulders, beautiful. Make your tripod, bring the palms together, place the spot on the head where you would balance a book, right on the floor, thumbs gently on the back of the head. Go ahead and tuck your toes, straighten the legs up and, oh, she's got a beautiful long spine. Very slowly bending the knees, lifting up in to your beautiful headstand. Come up as slowly as you can. Lovely, pull in to the belly, press in to your tripod and slowly release in to a nice Wide Leg and inhale, the legs back together and again drop them one more time to the sides and slowly and gently, inhale, legs back together. Coming out of it the same way you went in. Start to bend the knees and lower down with control, drop, and come in to child pose.
