Refueling & Rearming Planes in Battlestations Midway
DIXON GILLETTE: Welcome back to Expert Village, my name is Dixon Gillette. Let's continue our guide on how to play Battlestations: Midway. Most of the time, you're not just going to launch your airplanes into the air with nowhere for them to go. You're actually going to give them launch and attack commands. And we're going to show you how to do this now. So, what's you going to want to do is you're going to want to close your flight deck ops screen by pressing the Shift key. Now that we're here, we're essentially going to look for the target that we want our airplanes to attack. So, move your crosshairs over to whichever target it is and right click on your mouse, it's usually button number 2. Once that target has the white brackets around it, you're going to want to get back to your carrier operation screen. So, now that we're back at the carrier operations window, push the Launch and Attack button with your mouse. This will not only launch your planes, but it will send them to attack that target with the armament that you've assigned that aircraft. Okay. After your aircraft have achieved their objective and completed their mission, it's time to bring them back to the aircraft carrier. To do so, you're going to want to highlight the squadron that you want to return back to the flight deck. You just essentially push D to cycle through; once your squadron is selected, use your mouse and hit the Land Order button. This will essentially bring your planes back and rearm them, making them available for future missions and sorties. Now that all your aircraft are back in the hangar, you can now make modifications to the amount of aircraft in that particular squadron, and you can adjust the type of armament that aircraft carries. Alright, the last thing that you can do with carrier operations is you can use the Jump To command. This command will essentially allow you to jump and command any formation that is currently in the air. You do this by pushing A to select your squadron. Then, you push X on your keyboard and that puts you in command and in the pilot seat on any of these squadrons that you wish to command.
